This is the second year that we collaborate with well known photographer David Shoukry to improve our portrait skills.

David’s workshop will bring together the technical and creative aspects of portrait photography, providing you with an inspiring and holistic experience. You’ll focus on set design, colour and lighting and you’ll work with equipment owned by the Club, meaning that you’ll be able to reproduce the concepts and lighting styles afterwards.

You’ll work with soft and hard lighting styles, some of which are inspired by historic studio photography, and learn how to create simple but inspiring set designs using canvas backdrops, furniture and fabrics.

With a small group size, expert tuition and a first-rate model, you’ll produce images that will take your portrait photography to the next level. Full retouching guidance is a part of the day, you’ll go home with some great digital processing tools and nothing is held back in the Q&A session! The workshop is a fun, educational day where you and your photography are front and centre.
