Photo Laundry 2026 – An Open-Air Photo Exhibition by PICZ

Photo Laundry is back for a new edition! 

Photo Laundry is a unique open-air exhibition where every visitor becomes an exhibitor. We invite photographers of all levels to bring their printed work and hang it on laundry lines set up in the heart of Zurich. 

Whether you're a PICZ member or a first-time visitor, you're welcome to take part! It's all about sharing your passion for photography in an open, inclusive, and creative environment. 

This year's themes:

🌿 Nature's Echo 
👤 Human Presence  
🚶 City Pulse  
🎨 Beyond the Ordinary  

We are also introducing a special challenge theme this year: 

🏆 The Unfinished Story – a storytelling-focused category where the image suggests a narrative and leaves space for the viewer's imagination. 

📌 Rules for the challenge: 

  • All photographs for the challenge must be hung on the laundry line before 14:00h. 
  • Two prizes will be awarded at 17:30h: Public Choice Award and Jury Prize 

How it works:

  • Choose the themes that inspire you

  • Bring up to 5 printed photos per theme (your own work only)

  • Hang your images on the laundry lines

  • For each photo you hang, you can take home one from another participant (after 17h30)

  • Leave a message on the back of your print and connect with the community
