We are very pleased to announce that the winning picture of our Q4/2015 competition on “reflections through the window” is ‘Reflected Desire3’ by Salvatore Longobardo.

16 photos submitted; all very interesting and capturing the essence of the competition theme. Each of the members of the jury selected top three photographs evaluating the composition, creativity, technical quality and the content.

Nevertheless, all voted unanimously in favor of this symbolic subject that resound the feelings so deep. Not only the emotional aspect, but also curiously chosen background and very good composition grasped the jury’s attention.

Congratulations to Salvatore who will be granted a free 2016 Club membership.

“Wühre 3, unmissable address in the Zürcher photography landscape, the Wild-Card photo gallery, recently exposing the extra-large Patagonian B&W landscapes of C.A Samaras, and not least facing The Zürcher Landmark : Das Grossmünster.

This is one of my preferred walks pushing my-2-years-old-son-Leo’s stroller in Christmas period. On this sunny early afternoon of December, in Wild-Card windows, in the middle of Samaras’ Patagonian Andes, appeared such a passionate “Kiss” printed in backlit and dream of the dream backlighted. Well in reality I had already seen a couple of times that photo there, but the backlight was off or the sky too dark. This time conditions were perfect! Das Grossmünster in the mid-day sunlight, reflected on the top of the entrance door, and the backlighted Kiss on the bottom, my shadow on the right-up as well as a portion of Patagonia in the right-down. Horizontal, in the middle of the photo, the door pull bar, safely separating Lovers from Grossmünster!

The missing ring of my ‘Reflected Desires’ series.

Taken with my Nikon D600,  Nikkor Lens 16-35/4.0 at 35 mm. No Photoshop indeed, but generous contribution of Lightroom : vignetting, adjustment brush for photo frames and door pull bar, tone curve correction for highlights & black correction, severely reducing clarity but boosted contrast.”

(Salvatore Longobardo)
